Honeymoon in Hawaii (Oahu) Feb 13-19, 2006
Actual completed itinerary (tour package + 2 extra days):
Mon 13
-PM: arrive 1pm, Aloha, check in hotel (penthouse views of ocean, mountains, and city night lights of downtown)
-check out local beaches, swim 2 rectangle
-walk main strip of Waikiki: Kalakaua Ave.
-Evening International Market Place
Tues 14
-AM beach, swim 2 rectangle (shallow beach demarcated by jetty)
-dim sum
-PM Circle Island guided van Tour (w/ stops along roads H1, 72, 61 for scenic views, Halona Blowhole, & learn history of
natives, and Pali lookout)
-Black Pearl Factory (Maui Diver's of Hawaii) tour of facility and film.
-Evening: Sunset Dinner Cruise (buffet, comedian, & Luau show)
Wed 15
-AM Pearl Harbor Tour
-downtown Honolulu guided van tour (famous statues, city hall, unique trees, chinatown)
-PM snorkel at Hanauma Bay (Giselle's favorite) and guided city Kahala-side tour
Thurs 16
-AM check out 30+ species of tropical birds & fishes of Waikiki Hilton, & lagoon, then swim.
-PM Polynesian Cultural Center day: in this order: 1pm guided tour van windward (east) side, La'ie Point, canoe tour of 7 tribes, Imax Coral Reef Adventure movie, drum show, coconut show, buffet dinner, and then main Luau show. Return to hotel at 10pm.
Fri 17
-AM bus to & hike Diamond Head
-PM swim beaches, walk strip, watch artists
-evening: watch fireworks
Sat 18
-rent car 1 day
-AM Dole Pineapple Plantation (largest maze in the world - took us 50 min, ride Dole train, see fishes, eat Dole ice cream.)
-PM North Shore check out 5+ different beaches
-local fruit stands: eat fresh cut papaya, coconut.
-Shark Cove (Dennis's favorite place)
-dinner at Turtle Bay Resort's Leilei's
Sun 19
-AM beaches
-PM check out garden courtyard at airport: Hawaiian, Japanese, & Chinese.
-depart 2pm.
Alternates (we didn't get to it):
-hike to Manoa Falls, West beaches & 'Ewa, Ka'ena Point, Ko'Olina Resort & Marine, Horseback riding.
